OUR VISION, Current Goals, & Who we are
Our Vision
The Kitsap Farmland Preservation Coalition (KFPC) envisions a landscape where farmers are supported, farming is economically viable, local food is abundant, and the natural resources & beauty of Kitsap's rural areas are preserved. Our vision includes a future where residents value and actively contribute to the protection of farmland, understanding its essential role in promoting economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.
Our Current Goals
- Preserve existing farmland (work with current land owners & county)
- Farmer & community education
- Connect & collaboration with likeminded groups & individuals
- Continue working with the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners to adapt the Agriculture Code to better support farmers & preservation work.
Who We Are
We're an informal group of Farmers, Teachers, Conservationists, Environmental Scientists, Public Officials, and Community Activists who have joined together to figure out Farmland Preservation Solutions here in Kitsap County. Learn more about what we're doing in the "About Section" here
